Happy Halloween!

A couple of years ago Andy and I were out shopping at a store and saw this skunk costume that was so cute, it had a big fluffy skunk tail, then on the butt it said "Little Stinker." We always said our first kid had to be a skunk for their first Halloween. I looked everywhere for that costume this year, but could only find good ones online, I did go to a Halloween store last minute though and found a great one, but of course they didn't have his size. Anyhow, we ended up finding a super cute elephant costume trunk, tusks, big dumbo ears and all....he was so adorable in it, and I am so glad we found it!

We were up at my parents house this year so we just decided to take him around the neighborhood a bit, and go to friends and families houses. We had a blast, and of course had a huge photo shoot to document his first Halloween that he will never remember. He had a good time carving his first pumpkin, but having candy for the first time might have to wait until next year.

Hudson's very own pumpkin

Here's our elephant!

So cute!

Here is Hudson with my cousins kids, who were batman, and Ben from the Fantastic Four

Just about to go out...I didn't dress up, I just didn't know what to do....I think from now on though I will dress up, I think it will make it fun for Hudson for all of us to dress up together.

An elephant and his pumpkin

I should also note that Hudson was not scared of anyone! There were quite a few people that came to my parents house with scary masks on, and I kept thinking he would freak out, but he just laughed at them and wanted to touch the masks....it was pretty funny!

Hope everyone had a fun Halloween....now I just need to keep my hands out of Hudson's loot!

SCARY Pumpkins!

We're up in Washington again for a bit hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa Foxworthy.
The other night my cousins kids came over and wanted me to help them carve their pumpkins. Of course they are 7 and 8 year old boys so they had to have SCARY pumpkins! I went online and found some templates and let them choose which one they wanted. If I do say so myself, I think they turned out alright!

Of course we had to turn out all the lights and take pictures

Here are the two little rascals, Jared on the left, Leo on the right

And here is Hudson in his pre-costume outfit, it glows in the dark! I will be posting pictures of Hudson's pumpkin and costume later.
Happy Trick-or-Treating!

The Park

Things are finally starting to cool down here a bit, so Hudson and I took a walk to the park the other day. He hasn't really been in the grass a lot, so he didn't really know what to think of it at first, but after a bit he was fine, and had a good time! It was such a beautiful day...this is when I actually start to like Arizona. Winter down here is so nice, you start to forget how bad the Summers are. The Winters start making you think crazy things like "Arizona is not so bad maybe we should just stay here." Then, in the blink of an eye Summer returns, and all you can think about is MOVING OUTTA HERE!

Mom and Hudson being silly

Playing with the grass

You can't really tell in the picture, but when I first put him in the grass he wouldn't put both legs down. He kept keeping one leg slightly elevated above the grass like he didn't want to touch it
Which caused him to lose his balance quite a few times, but he kept doing it....it was so funny!
Of course he had to try and eat the grass too!

Time to take it down a notch or two

I went in to get Hudson from his nap the other day, and this is what I found! He pulled himself up for the very first time, well at least the first I've seen. So when Dad got home from school that day we lowered the crib!
Hudson, stop growing! This past week has been a week of SO many firsts for you, I can't keep up! You are now crawling everywhere, and pulling yourself up on things, and go from laying down to sitting up in 2.5 seconds! You also have become quite the eater, and pretty much gobble down anything we put in front of you, and it's amazing how all the sudden it all gets into your mouth and not all over yourself. You follow us everywhere and open up drawers and cabinets, and get into everything! You are babbling so much more, and are starting to wave bye, bye....we do this with you all the time, you can kind of say it, and you like to copy us and wave your hands, but you haven't quite put the two together yet. You also now raise your arms up when you want us to pick you up. You love to have us help you balance while you stand on your feet so you can bounce. You also try to take steps every once in a while....no walking yet though OK! Give me a little bit more time where I still consider you my baby, and not my little BOY!
It's amazing to watch you grow, and figure out this world around you. We love you so much, and love nothing more than to just be with you and experience everything through your eyes. You make even the most mundane of tasks funny and interesting because everything is new to you. There are times at night before we go to bed, that we both have to sneak in and look at you because we haven't seen you in 4 hours, and we already miss you. We find great joy in being your parents, and hope that you always know how much you are loved, wanted, and cherished. Thank you for making our family more complete.

Hi Mom!
Do you know what I can do? I can pull myself up like a big boy!
