Huddy Boo Boos

For no other reason than I think he's adorable!  Here are a few semi-recent pictures of our little man.
 Posing
Please excuse the super long hair, he was way over due for a hair cut and we were avoiding it!

Mommy and Hudson

If anyone knows our little guy they know he has a fetish with fuzzy things.  Both of his comfort blankets are fuzzy, and  he loves to touch anything fuzzy, soft, or furry.  Here he is with blanket batting,  he will take it and rub it on nose.  He mostly does this when he is tired, or comforting himself.  It is the funniest thing....I guess it could be worse.

Big Helper

Andy was out helping is Dad rake up all of the leaves that had fallen from the trees, and of course Hudson wanted to "Help." Grandpa Shuldberg had a rake just his size which he loved. I am sure he got a leaf or two in the bin?!

Spanish Paella

For one of Andy's graduation presents he received an authentic paella pan, and burner. For those of you who don't know, Andy lived in Spain for a few years, so he speaks fluent Spanish, and knows how to cook some pretty yummy Spanish dishes.
Paella is a Spanish rice dish, that uses Spanish saffron as one of the main flavors. I don't know how to explain what saffron tastes like, except it is delicious and VERY expensive.
So below we have a chicken paella, where we put pea pods, artichokes, roasted red peppers, mushrooms, a very special kind of rice called Bomba rice, and all kinds of other yummy spices. It takes quite a while to put together, and you cook everything on this huge, specially made burner that hooks up to your propane tank, but it's well worth it.
I thought I should document our very first paella in his very own paella pan.

Since we've been married cooking together has become something that we enjoy very much. I do watch other channels, but I could be happy to just sit and watch the Food Network all day long. We love to go online and find new and different recipes, and expand our horizons a bit with different types of food and cuisine. We love to plan all of our meals out, and do the grocery shopping, and then make the meals together. It has become a hobby of ours, and have had some great meals because of it!
Just as a side note....Andy is a great cook, and there are many nights when he completely takes care of dinner all on his own. He will find the recipe, buy the groceries, and whip it up without me lifting a finger. I guess I'm a lucky gal!

Adventures in Food

What kid doesn't love to make a huge mess when they eat?...Hudson is no exception!! For breakfast and lunch we are usually pretty good about putting a bib on him, and making sure he eats clean and neat. However for dinner I know we're just going to throw him in the bath afterwards, so we usually try and let him feed himself, he actually does a pretty good job, it's just some foods are much more messy than others. If nothing else it makes for some pretty funny memories, and pictures!
This spoon tastes so good!

We had chicken and rice for dinner this night, ya...probably won't let him go at it alone on the rice again!

Here he is having a Popsicle for dessert. He was being so goofy and had me laughing so hard I was throwing my head back. This is him copying me...which just made us all laugh harder, and couldn't stop

He is the biggest cheese ball of all time!

Feeding himself at the table and not in his highchair...I think he likes this much better.

First time eating corn on the cob
Um...wrong way dude
That's better

AWESOME!!

So I get home yesterday and Andy's all "Hudson, can you tell mom your new word?" and Andy tries to prompt him saying "Awe..." and Hudson says "Awshsome!" which means AWESOME..with a little lisp..It was so cute! So the rest of the night was spent saying "Awshsome."
Hudson is quite the chatter box, and basically repeats anything you say now. He does however have a few favorites among his vocabulary (Even if only mom and dad can understand some of them) which are:
Shoes
Cheese
Milk
Juice
Doggies
Bye Bye
Welcome
Sponge Bob (seriously??!)
Jinx (One of the dogs names)
Shadow (My parent's dog)
Cow
Pig
Two (He won't say one or three...only TWO!)
Ear
Eye
Teeth
Hi
Grandma (Guhmaa)
Grandpa (crapaa)
Book
Binky
Night Night
Poop
Pee Pee
Icky
Thank You

Mom
Dad
Kitty
Bubbles
Bath
Mine
Apple
Peas
His new game is to give us kisses. If we are sitting by him on the couch he will lean in and give me a kiss, then lean over and give Andy a kiss...it is so cute!! He goes on and on until he is laughing so hard he falls over. Of course he has to make the kissing sound too...Muwah!

Usually when he wakes up in the morning he takes his one "Special" blanket out of the crib with him to carry along, but lately he has to take ALL of the blankets out of the crib. So when you go to get him in the AM, it's so funny to see him trying to carry 3 and 4 blankets before he will let you get him out of the crib.

Hudson has also become very good at ignoring us. He totally knows when he is doing something naughty...he always gets this devilish look on his face....and if we catch him red handed in the act he turns, bolts and tries to run away...I try so hard not to laugh, and be serious, but gosh this kid has major personality and is just hilarious!

He likes to flush the toilet, and brush his own teeth with his battery operated tooth brush. He also uses a fork really well, and has discovered the joy of coloring...one day he decided to pull the paper off his highchair and just color his tray instead because that is much more fun! He also found a stray pencil laying around one day and decided to decorate the hallway and bathroom door...it was so beautiful...perhaps we have a graphic designer on our hands?!

Hudson also likes to "Walk" the dogs. He always takes their leash and tries to put it on them, of course he can't do it so we help him. Then he takes the leash and "Walks" the dogs all over the house with him. It's pretty funny sometimes....he gets mad when they don't want to go where he does so he'll start pulling them around the house....that's when we take the leash off....poor dogs!

He has also learned how to jump, and "Dance" and does it all the time...it is the most precious thing ever! He especially likes to jump in his crib, and sometimes when we put him to bed at night we can hear him in there jumping. He is such a good boy, so curious, and independent. This has been such a fun age because everyday he does or says something new, and always keeps us on our toes....We love you Huddy Bear!

Naughty boy!

OK, so I know you're thinking "Why are you posting a picture of your kid on a dirty bathroom floor"... right? Well, because I thought it was really funny! I'm in the bathroom with him at a local restaurant and had just finished changing him. He can stand pretty good on his own , and I thought "I can put him down for two seconds while I wash my hands right?" WRONG!! This kid CRAWLED (Eeew) on all fours over to the toilet paper dispenser and did THIS before I could even blink. I thought it was hilarious so I had to take a picture, and of course we both scrubbed our hands extra good after that little incident. I guess I won't be letting him down in a public restroom anytime soon.

Cute hat I got from Target....cheeseball!

He was so excited to take his bath one night, he was trying to dive in!

Jealous of the rubber duckies cause their in the bath and he's not

Washington the beautiful....

Every time I take pictures of the scenery in Washington, or think to myself how beautiful Washington is, I always think of my dear friend Kaleb. You see Kaleb is from Utah, and though I do agree Utah has some beautiful scenery, I always try and tell him nothing compares to Washington, and he can't deny it until he sees it for himself.

When I first moved to Utah I would frequently complain about it, and say how much I missed the water, mountains, and TREES in Washington! So after that, whenever Washington got brought up, he would always say, "Oh the beautiful green state!", or "Well nothing compares to the beautiful green state!"....anything along those lines, you get the idea.

So I have a few pictures that I have taken recently that I wanted to post, but I felt I needed to explain the background so you would understand why I am dedicating this post to Kaleb....may these pictures bring you great emotion because you have never seen anything more beautiful in all your life. (Other than your wife and kids)

This was taken outside my parents front door. This is Mt. Rainier. One good thing about having a child and waking up this early, is that you get to see the sun rise. I would also like to note that there were 3 telephone wires in this picture, as well as tree branches in front of the mountain, and I once again used my mad Photoshop skills to edit them out.
This is outside of Hansville, Washington off the Hood Canal

This is taken at the same location in Hansville just looking a different direction

Just For Fun

Just for laughs and giggles, I thought I would post this awesome pictuere of my brother Matthew, if for no other reason than I know he will hate it! I was just messing around and got some pretty good ones, but this one by far is my favorite! Love ya Matty!
