So we have been working lately on removing things that Hudson is attached to, and doesn't need to be anymore. We have successfully been rid of the bottle for a few months now, and have started work on the binky or "Bebe's" as he calls it. We have been without the binky cold turkey for three days now, and it seems to be going well.
We have also started talking about what we will do when the new baby arrives as far as sleeping arrangements go...do we try and transition Hudson beforehand into toddler bed, or do we let the new baby sleep in a bassinet for a while, and try and transition Hudson when he's a bit older?
Well, one night I heard some clanking coming from Boo's room, and I walk in to find the front of the crib missing. Andy decided we should try it for a night and see how he did. I figured he would be knocking on the door all night, and playing with toys etc... However, he did pretty well. We didn't hear a peep out of him all night, even though it seems he spent most of the night in a very uncomfortable sleeping position.
As you can see from the pictures below we didn't have one of those railings to keep him from falling out of bed, so we put a bunch of pillows below, and hoped for the best. When we went in to check on him a few hours later, we found him on the floor all curled up into a little ball. We went in with this tiny flashlight hoping not to wake him, it was so dark Andy almost stepped on him!
We put him back in bed without any issues, then heard him fussing in the night, so we went to go check on him again and he was once again on the floor. So all in all, other than rolling off the bed all night, it seems it was a success. I think once we get a railing he will do just fine. We just need to find a toddler bed for him now....I really wish he would quit growing up so fast!
