Semi-successful Transition

So we have been working lately on removing things that Hudson is attached to, and doesn't need to be anymore. We have successfully been rid of the bottle for a few months now, and have started work on the binky or "Bebe's" as he calls it. We have been without the binky cold turkey for three days now, and it seems to be going well.
We have also started talking about what we will do when the new baby arrives as far as sleeping arrangements go...do we try and transition Hudson beforehand into toddler bed, or do we let the new baby sleep in a bassinet for a while, and try and transition Hudson when he's a bit older?
Well, one night I heard some clanking coming from Boo's room, and I walk in to find the front of the crib missing. Andy decided we should try it for a night and see how he did. I figured he would be knocking on the door all night, and playing with toys etc... However, he did pretty well. We didn't hear a peep out of him all night, even though it seems he spent most of the night in a very uncomfortable sleeping position.
As you can see from the pictures below we didn't have one of those railings to keep him from falling out of bed, so we put a bunch of pillows below, and hoped for the best. When we went in to check on him a few hours later, we found him on the floor all curled up into a little ball. We went in with this tiny flashlight hoping not to wake him, it was so dark Andy almost stepped on him!
We put him back in bed without any issues, then heard him fussing in the night, so we went to go check on him again and he was once again on the floor. So all in all, other than rolling off the bed all night, it seems it was a success. I think once we get a railing he will do just fine. We just need to find a toddler bed for him now....I really wish he would quit growing up so fast!

Poor little guy!

Sound asleep and absolutely clueless (Thankfully) that he is sleeping on the floor!

Adventures in Food

What kid doesn't love to make a huge mess when they eat?...Hudson is no exception!! For breakfast and lunch we are usually pretty good about putting a bib on him, and making sure he eats clean and neat. However for dinner I know we're just going to throw him in the bath afterwards, so we usually try and let him feed himself, he actually does a pretty good job, it's just some foods are much more messy than others. If nothing else it makes for some pretty funny memories, and pictures!
This spoon tastes so good!

We had chicken and rice for dinner this night, ya...probably won't let him go at it alone on the rice again!

Here he is having a Popsicle for dessert. He was being so goofy and had me laughing so hard I was throwing my head back. This is him copying me...which just made us all laugh harder, and couldn't stop

He is the biggest cheese ball of all time!

Feeding himself at the table and not in his highchair...I think he likes this much better.

Um...wrong way dude
That's better

Santan Splash Pad

There is an outdoor mall right down the road from us that has a little play area, and splash pad for the kiddies. We usually go there on the weekends just to get out of the house, and because it's relatively cool with the water. Hudson doesn't seem to love it too much because the water just sprays in his face....but we keep taking him hoping he will get over it.
This picture was after playing, and he just couldn't decide which one he wanted...milk or juice?

Trying to escape up the stairs.....most of our time is spent making sure he doesn't run away (Why do we bring him here again?)
Evidence of not liking the water in his eyes. It's so funny because he loves baths, he loves to swim, but he hates that this thing sprays everywhere.

CrossFit Tire Flipping

This is my last post from our Washington trip. My brother since being home from Iraq, has been stationed at Ft. Lewis, so he is living back in Bremerton. He has opened a gym in downtown Bremerton called Bremerton CrossFit (Click here to check out his website.) Anyhow, he held a BBQ for all of the members over the weekend, and to invite new people to check out the gym. Once of their pieces of equipment is a huge tire that you flip, so we had some fun with it.
Here is Andy flipping the tire....you can barely see him, but I promise you it was him, and he flipped it!
Here is Boos trying to do some lifts

Trying to flip his own smaller tire

I think it was much more fun to play in!

Fun at the Bremerton Water Park = Young Love!

So there are still a few things to post from our trip back to Washington in JULY!!! Of course whenever I go home I have to hang out with my bestie Tara, and her cute little family. One day we went to Azteca (A Mexican restaurant that I have to go to when I'm in town), and then down to the Bremerton Water Park. I had not been there yet, and it's pretty nice right there in downtown Bremerton by the ferry docks.
Here is cute Chloe posing in my shades

The three amigos...Chloe, Lucy, and Hudson.

Obsession

Our little guys has an obsession with shoes and hats. First thing in the morning he wants to put his shoes on, and is usually running around the house in jammies and shoes. He also loves Dads hats, and puts them on and takes them off over and over again.

I wonder if he can actually see?

Dads shoe, and his mismatched jammies?!

Oh, and he loves Moms sunglasses!

So proud he actually got both of them on his feet. He gets so mad cause he can't walk in them, and they just fall off his feet. Then he as to sit there put them on again, and try walking again...this goes on forever! Finally he gets so ticked he throws a little fit and gives up! Silly boy!
