Autumn Leaves

My parents have two large maple trees that cover the front yard in leaves every Fall. I always remember as a kid "Helping" my Dad rake leaves, just to jump in the piles, and toss the leaves all over the yard again. Since only palm trees exist in Arizona, I really wanted some pictures of Hudson with the beautiful Autumn leaves that bring back so many memories of my childhood.
My Dad and I held the photo shoot in our front yard, and took over a hundred pictures, and these are just a few of the best shots. I was telling my Dad I am sure glad I am not a child photographer....constantly trying to get this kid to laugh or smile, taking a hundred shots, and only a few of them are GREAT....too much work for me! Anyhow, I am really happy with how they turned out, and he just looks so suave in his argyle sweater and old man flat cap!

He kept trying to take his hat off and the only way to make him keep it on was to distract him, so I just kept throwing leaves in the air....he loved it!

Trying to work with Photoshop again

Here he is trying to take that hat off again.....I was throwing leave up in the air again so he would stop trying to take it off.....as you can tell he is looking up at them....about two seconds later he fell over.

Hudson and Lucy sitting in a tree.....

When I am in Washington you can usually find me with my best friend from high school Tara. She has two cute girls...Lucy who is 22 months, and Chloe who is 3.5 months. When Hudson and Lucy first met, they weren't too interested in each other mostly cause Hudson was too little to play with. However, now that he is mobile, Lucy seems to be warming up to him. She calls him "Uh-don" and is very sweet to him. They are so funny together, so I wanted to put some pictures of them up.

I am trying to get Lucy to smile, but she just folded her arms and shot me this stare!

So much attitude....just like her mother! Work it girl!

Here is Lucy checking in on Hudson who is eating some of her chicken. He kept throwing his sippy cup and she kept picking it up for him....Thanks Lucy!

Big girl!

I promise I can explain the pink heart pajamas! Hudson and I were over late one night, and Tara and I were just going to get up and go shopping in the morning anyway, so we just decided to stay the night.....we had everything but pajamas with us, so lucky Hudson got to borrow some from Lucy. I think he rocked them pretty good...he is confident in his manhood....but I tell you it was so weird to look at him in those, I had to do a double take sometimes.

Having his bottle before bed

Lucy....who had Hudson's binky in her mouth! She was trying to hold him for us so we could take a picture of the two of them

Playing in the kitchen

K-I-S-S-I-N-G
They kept crawling around the house kind of chasing each other....Lucy was nice and crawled since Hudson can't walk yet. She kept crawling up to him and would give him a kiss....so sweet!

Real Men Sparkle!!

I am feeling a little sorry for it today because I am so tired, but last night was totally worth it! Two of my best friends from high school, Tara and Michelle and I attended the 12:01 am showing of Twilight. One of my friends from Arizona Becki, made us these awesome shirts to wear! I loved them cause they were totally original...Thanks Becki!
Now I am normally not one to attend a 12:01 am movie, no matter how excited I am to see it, but we thought it would be fun to join the tons of teens and makes fools of ourselves over Edward! We made a night of it by going to Applebee's first....then heading over to the theater about 1.5 hours early thinking there would be a huge line, we even bought our tickets early. So we show up, and there is not even a line! So we all sat in Michelle's car for an hour or so chatting it up, taking pictures, and killing time.
We finally get into the theatre, and they have it playing on two screens....luckily we all got seats next to each other, and got to sit in the back. We were a little worried there would be lots of people screaming, and clapping and doing all the dumb annoying stuff people tend to do in movies like this, but the crowd was really good, and I didn't get annoyed once!
The movie was O.K for me. The actor they got to play Edward I thought was a good choice, but overall, the book is much better, which is usually the case. Anyhow, it was so much fun to go out with the girls without all our kids for a change! We all had a blast......and Michelle even got a nap in at the movie.....now she's gonna have to see it again cause she missed 3/4 of it!
Thanks girlie's for a great night....it's been real! Sweet dreams about Edward!

Michelle said make a vampire pose....and this is what I came up with? Good job on the vampire pose Tara!

Snorkels

When Hudson was first born, a family friend of ours knitted him a really cute sweater. It was definitely too big for him, so he is just now fitting into it. I put it on him for the first time the other day, and it is just the cutest thing! I like it even more when it's on! The sweater has a hood on it, and she put the zipper in the back so he cant take it off. It's awesome cause he keeps trying to wriggle out of it, but because it's zipped in the back he can't.....what an ingenious idea!
Having the zipper go all the way up the back to the hood, also makes the hood stick straight up in the air.....every time I see him in it, he reminds me of a Snorkel remember that cartoon?

I promise there is nothing in that cup! Are you feeling the whole Snorkel thing?

So cute!

Of course the hands are going to try and get that hood off his head, but it won't work!

Truer words were never spoken.....

The bib says it all!
Hudson has officially at about 11 months old started teething. The Pediatrician told us that when the teeth come in later it's good cause they are healthier and last longer, however, she warned us that most likely when they do start to come in, they would all come in at once.
Lucky for us that is exactly what is happening and this little stink has been just that, a stink, except he has been a BIG stink! We have been lucky in that it hasn't really affected his sleep at all he is just extremely fussy and irritable during the day. He has two on the bottom coming in, with one that has already broken through, and also two on the top that are just starting to come down.
Let's hope this milestone passes sooner rather than later!

Teething Bites!

If you click to enlarge the picture you can see the two top teeth starting to come down

If you enlarge this one, you can see a tiny tooth on his right just popping through the gums!

Now here are a few pictures of your favorite Nephew! He is so excited you are coming home soon!!
Cheese! (He completely poses for the camera now when he sees it!)

So Mom said this is your blanket.....anyhow, Hudson is obsessed with it! He loves soft, fury and silky things so he now sleeps with this blanket! Just so you know, I am stealing it when we go home.

Love you Uncle Matty.....now hurry and get home safe and sound!

Rub a dub dub...Hudson in the tub!

One night while Andy was giving Hudson a bath he told me I had to "Come check this out!" Hudson would bend over in his tub, take a sip of water, then sit back up....15 seconds later he would do it all over again. Of course we were cracking up so he kept on doing it. Good thing there wasn't any soap in the water yet, I am sure that would not have tasted too good.....I guess maybe he was thirsty?

I figured he would hate me when he got older if I posted a picture of his bum crack on the Internet.
Having fun splashing in the tub!

If you couldn't vote early, don't forget to go out to the polls tomorrow. This election is too important!
