Complete and Utter Boredom Leads To.........

A few weeks ago Andy was gone with some friends for the weekend in St. George. I have found that since being married we seem only hang out with each other, so since my "Other" was gone for the weekend I found myself looking for things to do around the house.
We had just bought our baby furniture a few weeks prior, and I was itching to put it together (About 5 months early I might add.) So the following pictures are what I put together all by myself! The crib was a little tricky, but it came together just fine. I would also like to add that the dresser was completely in pieces. You had to put together EVERYTHING! Even screw together all four sides of the drawers and all the drawer hardware. I'm not trying to toot my own horn here, but watch out for me and my cordless drill!

The room colors are going to be a cream, sage green, and chocolate brown. The sheets which you can't really see in the picture have green and brown polka dots on them. I am not really loving the cream colored crib skirt, but it's hard to find anything in bold colors like brown for a baby's room, everything seems to be pastel. I am thinking I might need to have one made for me.

The Baby BBQ

For Labor weekend we headed up to Utah, it was a very short trip (Left Friday night came back Monday afternoon) but it was a fun trip! So on Friday it took us over 3 hours just to get out of Phoenix so we ended up staying the night in Page and making it to Utah on Saturday finally making it to our destination around 1ish. We quickly got ready for our Baby BBQ that was starting at 4pm.

When posting all of these pictures below, I realized that I didn't get pictures of everyone that came so that is a bummer, but thanks to all who came. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. It was so nice to see people we haven't seen in ages! And thanks to the BYU game that day, people kind of came and went all night which was great because it gave us more time to visit with people one on one. It was perfect the kids played together, the girls all chatted, and the guys got to watch the game!

This Cutie is Mia (Andy's best friend Kaleb's daughter.) I was trying to get some pictures of the other kids and kept telling them to say "Cheese" and she was beside me and kept saying "Cheese, Cheese!!" So I had to get a picture. If you can tell by the shape of her lips she is smiling pretty for the camera and saying "CHEESE!"

Here is Kaleb and Mia ready for Church on Sunday

Here is another great one of Mia. She had her hair in the cutest pig tails, then mom (Kat) took them out and this was the new hair style we had. She was trying to go for an edgier look ya know!

So after our BBQ on Saturday, we headed up to Kat and Kaleb's house and stayed the night there. On Sunday morning she was sitting on the couch playing with the book we had bought her saying "Cheese, Cheese, Cheese!" So I took another pix!

Mia has the best hair! Her dad had given her a bath and a mohawk!

This is my friend and old roommate Emily on the left, and my friend and other old roommate Kat on the right chattin it up

Here is Andy with his best friend Kaleb

Here is the Melchior Family: Shannon, Andy (or Milk as I like to call him) and their son Connor

Here is Emily with her son (who is the spitting image of his dad Sammy) Riven

And here we have Cassandra, who is an old friend from high school with her two kiddies Ava on the left and Eldon on the right.........Eldon is really in to having his picture taken if you can't tell, Ava isn't so sure about the whole thing. I'd like to add that Cass brought ton of great food to the BBQ, so thanks for that!

Well,I still have more pictures to post from our trip so from our time in Park City with Andy's family, so I will post those later this week.

Scenes From Our Trip To Utah

Andy and I headed up to Utah for Labor day weekend. I have quite a few pictures so I will put them in different posts this week. We went up there for our "Baby BBQ." We always complain that we never get to see all of our friends when we are in Utah because it is usually such a quick trip. So instead of doing a typical baby shower, we had a "Baby BBQ" where all of our friends, guys, gals, and children were invited. I am really glad we did it that way, we got to see a lot of friends, and many we haven't seen for a long time.

Anyhow, the pictures below are me once again trying to play photographer. Most of these are taken outside the car window as Andy was driving. They are mostly of southern Utah, and the Lake Powell area of Arizona as well.

This is Southern Utah right outside of Kanab

Another one just outside of Kanab

Here is one of the rare occasions where I was driving, couldn't resist the picture. Doesn't he look comfortable?

This is at sunrise in Page, Arizona

Crossing Lake Powell

Lake Powell area again

Sunrise over Lake Powell (Taken from the car I might add)

And a sunrise shot again

If you have never been to southern Utah, it is just really beautiful!

Right at this moment we are having a crazy thunderstorm and our power keeps going off and on. This is the third time I have gotten on to finish this post, so I think I will call it a night! I will post pictures of the BBQ later this week.

Lunar Eclipse

Andy and I are big nerds, so we set our alarm clocks a few weeks ago to get up at 2:30am to see the lunar eclipse we had recently. I had never seen one in person, so we were both pretty excited about it. I had my camera all ready to go, and was looking forward to getting some great shots! In Figrue A below you will see my first shot of the eclipse, which I think is pretty good for an amateur photographer. It took a lot of skill, and a steady hand to get this shot!

Figure A

Now in Figure B below, you will see my second shot of the eclipse which is not nearly as good as the first, I just can't figure out what happened! It's terrible compared to the first shot!
Figure B

Oh ya, I guess I should probably mention that the first shot is actually my dad's fine photography skill not mine. That might have something to do with the lesser quality of the picture in Figure B as that is the one that I took. Now I will mention that my dad does have a lens a mile long, so he has a bit of an advantage, however I still have a long way to go in the land of skilled photography. I might not have a good shot of the eclipse, but at least I have my memories!
